Albuterol (also known as salbutamol) is used to prevent and treat
wheezing and shortness of breath caused by breathing problems (e.g.,
asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). It is also used to
prevent asthma brought on by exercise. Albuterol belongs to a class of
drugs known as bronchodilators. It works in the airways by opening
breathing passages and relaxing muscles. Controlling symptoms of
breathing problems can decrease time lost from work or school.

Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (e.g., common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.
